About this tabletop

A live-edge Iroko top: one solid board with its natural edge left on, prepared to your dimensions in our Farmingdale, New York shop. Iroko reads rich golden-brown with gently interlocked grain — the African hardwood called African teak, dense with natural oils and rated for outdoor life; untreated outdoors it weathers to an even silver-grey patina, oiled it keeps its gold.

A live-edge Iroko dining top gives you the natural edge along both long sides where diners sit, and the interlocked grain makes that edge ripple rather than fall straight the way ash does. Left outdoors it silvers to an even grey and keeps its shape; brought back in and oiled, the gold returns within a coat.

The natural edge is cleaned and sealed rather than sanded away, the face is finished in food-safe zero-VOC hardwax oil, and the slab ships crated with free lift-gate freight.

One of our hardwood table tops, built in Iroko — the same build is available in every hardwood we mill.

Details, Care & Shipping

What can I use a custom hardwood tabletop for?

Our hardwood tabletops are built for a wide range of residential and commercial applications, including dining tables, office desks, conference tables, kitchen islands, and retail or hospitality spaces. For restaurant and café installations, visit our Restaurant Tabletops page to learn more about commercial-grade builds and bulk ordering.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

Our tabletops are sealed with a premium, 100% VOC-free hardwax oil engineered for commercial-grade durability. The finish is highly resistant to spills, stains, moisture, and everyday chemicals, making it ideal for restaurants, cafés, offices, and busy homes. It provides a natural matte sheen that enhances the wood grain while protecting it for long-term use. Cleaning is simple: wipe with a mild soap-and-water solution or a gentle all-purpose cleaner. While the finish can handle regular commercial cleaning products, we recommend avoiding extremely harsh or abrasive chemicals to preserve the natural look of the wood. If you prefer a wood-safe solution, we offer an approved cleaner here: Hardwood Surface Cleaner. View available finish options on our Color Swatches page.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Each piece is built to order in our New York shop. Current lead time is 4-6 weeks, and the Builder shows your ship window before you add to project. Need it sooner? Ready-to-Ship pieces leave in 1–2 business days.

How is it shipped and delivered?

We ship tabletops nationwide. Smaller pieces ship parcel, while larger dining or conference tops ship via freight. Every tabletop is professionally packaged and secured for safe transport. You’ll receive tracking details once your order has shipped.

What is C-channel reinforcement and do I need it?

For wider or longer tabletops, optional steel C-channel reinforcement can be added to the underside for increased stability and long-term flatness. This upgrade is recommended for commercial installations or extra-large builds. Learn more about how C-channels work on our C-Channel Reinforcement page.
