The finish on every piece.
One finish, standard on everything we build: VESTING LED-Hard Wax Oil, a zero-VOC hardwax oil that cures solid under LED-UV light in seconds. It soaks into the pore instead of filming over the top, so the wood reads deeper, not coated, and it holds up to surfaces that get used every day.
Because it cures under UV light rather than air-drying, we harden every piece in the shop before it crates. Your top arrives at full cure, with nothing left to off-gas.
What it is
Why we finish this way
Built for hard use
This is a highly durable, commercial-tested coating — the same finish system rated for surfaces that get worked on every day. It is wear-resistant and spill-repellent: liquids bead and wipe up instead of soaking in, and it stands up to the knives, heat, and daily cleaning of a busy kitchen or bar. Where a film finish dulls and wears with age, an oil finish only deepens with use.
In the wood, not on it
A hardwax oil soaks into the grain and hardens inside the pore, so the surface still feels like wood and shows its real depth and figure. A film finish like polyurethane or lacquer sits on top as a plastic skin that can scratch white, cloud, or peel, and when it fails you strip the whole top. This does not.
Cured by light, not by waiting
The oil stays workable until it meets LED-UV light, then sets solid in seconds. We buff it into the grain and cure it under the lamp, so a piece is at full hardness before it leaves the shop. No weeks of air-curing, no soft finish on installation day, and because it is zero-VOC, nothing evaporates off into your home.
Repairs in place
A scratch or a worn spot years from now is buffed out, re-oiled locally, and re-cured. The surface is back in service the same hour, without stripping or refinishing the whole top. That is the advantage of a solid top with an oil finish: it is renewed, not replaced.
Honest about care
There is no re-oiling calendar and no annual recoat. Wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, wipe up standing water (especially around sinks), and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive pads off it. That is the whole routine.
