Solid wood cabinet doors, every front from one bundle of boards

These are solid wood cabinet doors through and through: a slab door is one glued-up hardwood panel, a shaker door is routed from one panel so there is no joint to open, and the fluted, reeded, scalloped and hammered faces are cut into the solid wood, not applied to a core. Flat panel cabinet doors, drawer fronts and tall pantry doors are all cut to the sizes you type, 3/4 in, 7/8 in or 1 in thick, in walnut, white oak, maple, cherry and twelve more species, finished in any color the wood offers or shipped as unfinished cabinet doors for your own finisher.

The grain is the point. Every front in an order is cut from the same bundle of boards in hanging order, so a wall of doors reads as one piece of furniture, and if you already own a Hardtwood countertop, table or shelves we match them. Replacement cabinet doors for an existing kitchen, fronts for IKEA Sektion frames and a full set of custom cabinet doors for a new build all price the same way, live in the Builder, or from the plans you send us.

Questions

Solid Wood Cabinet Doors: Questions Before You Order

Our cabinet doors and drawer fronts are cut to order from solid hardwood in Farmingdale, New York, every front in an order from one bundle of boards. The questions below cover sizes, thickness, hinges, finish and shipping; the Builder prices your list live, and the plans path is there when you would rather send a drawing.

Are these really solid wood cabinet doors, or a veneer?
Solid hardwood through and through. A slab door is one glued-up panel of solid boards; a shaker door is routed from one solid panel; the textured faces are cut into the solid wood. There is no MDF core, no veneer and no thermofoil anywhere in the line, so a cut edge, a hinge cup and the back of the door are all the same wood as the face.
What sizes can you make?
Any width and height you type, to the eighth of an inch, from a 4 in drawer front to a 96 in pantry door, with no cap on width. The Builder carries the IKEA SEKTION sizes as presets for owners of those frames, but every front is cut to the number you enter, so an odd existing opening is no harder than a standard one.
Which thickness should I choose?
We offer 3/4 in, 7/8 in and 1 in. The 3/4 in door is the industry standard and right for drawer fronts and doors under 10 in wide; over 10 in across the grain we recommend 7/8 in, which is where other makers cap the width instead, and 1 in is there for a heavier read or a very tall door. The Builder suggests the thickness as you type the size.
What is matched grain, and what does continuous grain cost?
Matched grain is standard and costs nothing: every front in your order is cut from the same bundle of boards, in hanging order, so the color and figure are consistent across the kitchen. Continuous grain is a choice you turn on in the Builder for a run of fronts, a drawer stack or a bank of doors, cut in sequence from one board so the figure continues across the reveals; it carries a surcharge per front in the run because of the yield it costs.
Can you match a countertop, table or shelves I already bought from you?
Yes. Give the Builder your earlier order number and it fills in the wood and the color; we pull from the same species and finish and, where we still have it, the same lumber lot. It is the reason the door line exists: the island, the shelves and the doors from one shop, in one wood.
Do you bore for hinges?
Yes, for a flat fee per front. Choose IKEA Utrusta and we bore the 35 mm cups at that spacing, ready to hang on a SEKTION frame; choose a custom pattern and tell us the cup spacing and set-back, with a drawing attached if you have one. You can also take the doors unbored for your installer, or pick Other and describe what you need and we will confirm it before anything is cut.
Finished or unfinished?
Either. Finished doors get the same 100% VOC-free hardwax oil as our countertops, clear or in any stain color the wood offers, which is nine on the oaks, maple, ash and alder, six on walnut, cherry and mahogany, and clear only on the exotics. Unfinished doors ship sanded and raw for your own finisher at a small discount.
How long does a door order take?
Doors run on the same bench as everything else, so the posted lead time applies: currently 4-6 weeks. The Builder shows your ship window before you add the list to your project, and a large kitchen or a plans order that needs a drawing read first may run to the long end of it.
How are cabinet doors shipped?
By UPS, each front wrapped and corner-protected and the order boxed by run, so a drawer stack arrives together. Large orders and tall pantry doors go crated by freight with lift-gate delivery like our countertops. Shipping is quoted at checkout from the list you build.
Can I send plans instead of using the Builder?
Yes. Pick a wood and a style, upload a drawing, a cabinet schedule or your IKEA Kitchen Planner list, and we build the door list for you in hanging order and send it back as a quote within one business day, priced exactly as the Builder would price it. Most kitchens with a drawing go this way; a single door or a drawer stack is faster in the Builder.
Do you take on custom or one-off projects?
Yes. Beyond the online builder, we take on custom sizes, oversized pieces, matched commercial runs, and bespoke solid-hardwood millwork. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll quote it by hand, usually within one business day. Start a custom project ›
