About this countertop

Our Iroko countertop is 100% solid Iroko — never veneer over particleboard — milled to your exact dimensions in our Farmingdale, New York shop. Iroko reads rich golden-brown with gently interlocked grain — the African hardwood called African teak, dense with natural oils and rated for outdoor life; untreated outdoors it weathers to an even silver-grey patina, oiled it keeps its gold.

On a counter the oils are the whole argument. Iroko sheds standing water better than any domestic hardwood we mill, which is why it ends up around sinks, on outdoor kitchens and along bar tops that live under a pergola. It is the one species here we will build for genuinely exterior use — left unfinished it silvers evenly rather than blotching, and a coat of oil each spring brings the gold straight back.

Hand-sanded and sealed in food-safe, zero-VOC hardwax oil — or shipped unfinished if you would rather oil it yourself — and crated with free lift-gate freight anywhere in the continental US. The price you see in the Builder is the delivered price.

One of our hardwood countertops, built in Iroko — the same build is available in every hardwood we mill.

Details, Care & Shipping

Where can I use a solid hardwood countertop?

Our hardwood countertops are designed for kitchens, islands, bathroom vanities, commercial bars, restaurant counters, office workspaces, and custom installations.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

For cleaning, simply wipe with mild soap and water or a gentle all-purpose cleaner. Avoid extremely harsh or abrasive chemicals to preserve the wood’s natural appearance. If you prefer a wood-safe option, we offer an approved cleaner here: Hardwood Surface Cleaner.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Each piece is built to order in our New York shop. Current lead time is 10–12 weeks, and the Builder shows your ship window before you add to project. Need it sooner? Ready-to-Ship pieces leave in 1–2 business days.

How is it shipped and delivered?

We ship countertops nationwide. Smaller tops may ship parcel, while large island tops and long-span countertops ship via freight. Every countertop is securely packaged or crated to protect the piece during transit. Tracking details are provided once the order ships.
