Does the same stain look identical on every wood?
No. Each stain reads differently on each species. The same “Chocolate” looks richer on walnut than on white oak because the wood’s natural color and grain show through. That’s why we display the stain colors on each species rather than as a single chip.
Are your finishes food-safe and durable?
Yes. Every stain is sealed with a 100% VOC-free, food-safe hardwax-oil finish, durable enough for kitchens, commercial bars, and daily use, with a natural matte sheen.
Can I keep the wood natural, without a stain?
Absolutely. Every species can be finished natural to show its raw tone. A few woods, like arctic and black oak, are offered natural only, since their color is the feature.
Are these swatches accurate to the real color?
They’re close digital approximations, but screens vary and wood is a natural material, so real color and grain differ from piece to piece. Order a physical sample to judge true color and figure before you build.
Can you match a specific stain or an existing finish?
Often, yes. Send a photo or the color you’re matching through our Contact page and we’ll advise on the closest stain, or a custom match, before you order.
Do you take on custom or one-off projects?
