Wood Edge Details

Every squared-edge top includes your choice of any of our five standard edge profiles at no extra charge. The edge is shaped and finished as part of the build and priced the same no matter which of the five you choose. Custom profiles — an ornate French Baroque, a double round, or a shape matched to your cabinetry — are quoted individually; contact us with what you have in mind.

For everyday kitchens, a softly eased or roundover edge is the most practical: it’s comfortable to lean against, easy to wipe down, and more resistant to chipping at the corner. A crisp square edge suits modern and commercial spaces, while ogee and bullnose profiles read more traditional.

Yes. Edge profiles apply to straight, squared tops. If you’d prefer the natural contour of the tree, choose Live Edge in the Builder instead. A live-edge top keeps the organic outer edge on one or both long sides rather than a milled profile.

An eased edge is a square edge with the sharp top and bottom corners lightly softened, subtle and modern. A bullnose rolls the entire edge into a full rounded profile, which reads softer and more traditional and is very comfortable to the touch.

Not meaningfully. Every edge is sanded smooth and sealed with the same 100% VOC-free finish as the surface, so all profiles clean the same way. Rounded profiles are slightly more chip-resistant at the corner than a sharp square edge.
