About the Balkan
The Balkan is the most minimal table we make and the most forthright about how it is made: a thick plank top on four square corner posts that run straight up through it, so each post shows its end grain flush in the top at the corner. A slim band runs under the top between the posts, set back a touch from their faces, and below that the posts stand free to the floor. There is no apron, no taper, no stretcher and no hardware to see — the joinery is the design.
Shown in European oak, whose straight, even grain suits a table this frank. Built to order in any of the sixteen woods we stock, the posts and the top cut from the same boards, finished in zero-VOC hardwax oil and shipped crated with lift-gate delivery. Three lengths; the 114″ seats ten.

Solid european oak top, corner posts and band of the same stock, kiln-dried · zero-VOC hardwax oil finish. Every board hand-picked and grain-matched before glue-up; milled, sanded and finished in our own shop.
