About the Kouper
The Kouper Round is the Kouper’s idea turned to a circle: a wide-plank solid hardwood round, its underside beveled back to a thin edge all the way around, on four blades set radially about the center — a plus sign in plan, each blade a solid slab cut to the Kouper’s long diamond in section, full thickness down the middle and tapering to a fine edge at both sides, their inner tips stopping just short of one another. From any seat the base reads as a single thin blade; there is no column, no apron, and a knee fits anywhere around the rim.
Shown in sapele mahogany, whose ribbon figure runs across the round and down every blade. Built to order in any of the sixteen woods we stock, the base and the top cut from the same boards, finished in zero-VOC hardwax oil and shipped crated with lift-gate delivery. Three diameters; the 72″ seats eight.

Solid mahogany round top and four radial diamond-section blades of the same stock, kiln-dried · zero-VOC hardwax oil finish. Every board hand-picked and grain-matched before glue-up; milled, sanded and finished in our own shop.
