Kouper Dining Table

The Kouper is our newest design: a wide-plank top on four legs cut to a long diamond in section — each leg a solid slab planed to its full thickness down the center and tapering to a fine edge at both sides, so it reads as a thin blade from the front and a heavy mass from the side. The legs sit in from the corners and splay a few degrees, and the top’s underside is beveled back to a thin edge to match, so a thick slab reads light from across the room and heavy in the hand. A rail ties the legs under the top with nothing else below — no stretcher, no apron to catch a knee.

Shown in ash, whose pale cathedral grain runs unbroken across the legs and the top. Built to order in any of the sixteen woods we stock, the legs and the top cut from the same boards, finished in zero-VOC hardwax oil and shipped crated with lift-gate delivery. Three lengths; the 114″ seats ten.
