About the Vekt
The Vekt is our own design, and the whole idea is a single heavy plane held up by as little as possible. A wide-plank top, chamfered under its edge, sits on two faceted columns of the same stock, each an arrow in plan — a broad front face stepped back to two narrower returns, every edge chamfered — so the leg changes shape as you walk round it and catches the light on five planes. The two are mirrored and set in from the ends, with no apron and no stretcher, so the underside reads as clean as the top and there is nothing to catch a knee.
The wood is yours to choose on this page. Walnut is where the Vekt started and still the one most people picture — warm, chocolate through purple-brown, darkening for a year or two before it settles. European white oak is the harder-wearing, quieter version, and the table recedes into a room that already has something to look at; hard maple keeps the mass pale. Every wood we stock is priced as you pick it, the top and the legs cut from the same boards so the color runs through the whole table.

Materials & construction
A thick plank, chamfered under its edge, on two mirrored columns cut to an arrow in plan, each face stepped and chamfered so the leg reads as one faceted mass — no apron, no stretcher, nothing to catch a knee.
Solid walnut top and columns, wide plank, kiln-dried · zero-VOC hardwax oil finish. Every board hand-picked and grain-matched before glue-up; milled, sanded and finished in our own shop.

About this dining table
The Vekt comes in three lengths — 84, 96 and 114 inches — at 42 inches wide and 30 high, the top a full 1¾ inches thick. Every length is priced on this page in the wood you choose; any other length, width or proportion is quoted, and the shop will cut the frame to your room, from a six-seat to a twelve-seat. Built to order in Farmingdale, New York from Grade-A stock, finished by hand in food-safe, zero-VOC hardwax oil that can be repaired in place rather than stripped. Crated, with free lift-gate freight anywhere in the continental US.
