About this countertop

A live-edge European Oak top: one solid board with its natural edge left on, prepared to your dimensions in our Farmingdale, New York shop. European Oak reads warm golden-tan with tight, straight grain and a gentle cathedral figure — slower-grown than American white oak, with a deeper honey cast prized in European kitchens.

A live-edge European Oak counter puts the pale sapwood band along the front edge of the run, against the honey heartwood of the working surface — the contrast is what people notice, and it is entirely natural. The tyloses that make oak water-resistant are as present in the edge as in the face, so the exposed grain there does not drink the way a softer species would.

The natural edge is cleaned and sealed rather than sanded away, the face is finished in food-safe zero-VOC hardwax oil, and the slab ships crated with free lift-gate freight.

One of our hardwood countertops, built in European Oak — the same build is available in every hardwood we mill.

Details, Care & Shipping

Where can I use a solid hardwood countertop?

Our hardwood countertops are designed for kitchens, islands, bathroom vanities, commercial bars, restaurant counters, office workspaces, and custom installations.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

For cleaning, simply wipe with mild soap and water or a gentle all-purpose cleaner. Avoid extremely harsh or abrasive chemicals to preserve the wood’s natural appearance. If you prefer a wood-safe option, we offer an approved cleaner here: Hardwood Surface Cleaner.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Each piece is built to order in our New York shop. Current lead time is 10–12 weeks, and the Builder shows your ship window before you add to project. Need it sooner? Ready-to-Ship pieces leave in 1–2 business days.

How is it shipped and delivered?

We ship countertops nationwide. Smaller tops may ship parcel, while large island tops and long-span countertops ship via freight. Every countertop is securely packaged or crated to protect the piece during transit. Tracking details are provided once the order ships.
