Black Oak Face Grain Wood Tabletops

Our Black Oak face grain tabletops deliver a rich, dramatic aesthetic defined by strong grain contrast and naturally deep brown tones. Known for its expressive texture and robust hardwood strength, Black Oak brings a grounded, architectural presence to any space while maintaining the clean, refined character expected from a premium hardwood surface.

Each tabletop is handcrafted to your exact dimensions in our New York workshop. The face grain orientation showcases Black Oak’s striking grain movement and natural variations, creating a surface with depth and visual interest that feels both modern and organic. This makes it an excellent choice for dining tables, restaurant tabletops, office desks, and conference surfaces where a bold yet timeless material statement is desired.

Precision-milled from solid Black Oak hardwood, these tabletops offer long-lasting durability, distinct grain expression, and a warm, sophisticated tone that complements both contemporary and rustic interiors.

Details, Care & Shipping

What can I use a custom hardwood tabletop for?

Our hardwood tabletops are built for a wide range of residential and commercial applications, including dining tables, office desks, conference tables, kitchen islands, and retail or hospitality spaces. For restaurant and café installations, visit our Restaurant Tabletops page to learn more about commercial-grade builds and bulk ordering.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

Our tabletops are sealed with a premium, 100% VOC-free hardwax oil engineered for commercial-grade durability. The finish is highly resistant to spills, stains, moisture, and everyday chemicals, making it ideal for restaurants, cafés, offices, and busy homes. It provides a natural matte sheen that enhances the wood grain while protecting it for long-term use. Cleaning is simple: wipe with a mild soap-and-water solution or a gentle all-purpose cleaner. While the finish can handle regular commercial cleaning products, we recommend avoiding extremely harsh or abrasive chemicals to preserve the natural look of the wood. If you prefer a wood-safe solution, we offer an approved cleaner here: Hardwood Surface Cleaner. View available finish options on our Color Swatches page.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Each tabletop is handcrafted to order, with typical production times of 3–4 weeks, depending on size, species, and finish. If you have a project deadline or need expedited scheduling, please reach out through our Contact page.

How is it shipped and delivered?

We ship tabletops nationwide. Smaller pieces ship parcel, while larger dining or conference tops ship via freight. Every tabletop is professionally packaged and secured for safe transport. You’ll receive tracking details once your order has shipped.

What is C-channel reinforcement and do I need it?

For wider or longer tabletops, optional steel C-channel reinforcement can be added to the underside for increased stability and long-term flatness. This upgrade is recommended for commercial installations or extra-large builds. Learn more about how C-channels work on our C-Channel Reinforcement page.
