About this tabletop

Our Zebrawood table top is 100% solid Zebrawood, milled to your exact dimensions in our Farmingdale, New York shop — never veneer over a core. Zebrawood reads pale gold crossed by dark blackish-brown stripes — the boldest pattern we mill, and hard enough for daily work at 1,830 lbf Janka.

On a dining table or a desk the full width of the top is on show at once, which is where zebrawood earns its keep: the stripes run the length of the piece and read as one continuous pattern rather than as figure you have to look for. Keep the base simple and the room quiet around it.

Offered face grain only — the wide dark bands across a pale field are the whole point, and a strip-built top would cut them apart.

Hand-sanded and sealed in food-safe, zero-VOC hardwax oil — or shipped unfinished if you would rather oil it yourself — and crated with freight and lift-gate included.

One of our hardwood table tops, built in Zebrawood — the same build is available in every hardwood we mill.

Details, Care & Shipping

What can I use a custom hardwood tabletop for?

Our hardwood tabletops are built for a wide range of residential and commercial applications, including dining tables, office desks, conference tables, kitchen islands, and retail or hospitality spaces. For restaurant and café installations, visit our Restaurant Tabletops page to learn more about commercial-grade builds and bulk ordering.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

Our tabletops are sealed with a premium, 100% VOC-free hardwax oil engineered for commercial-grade durability. The finish is highly resistant to spills, stains, moisture, and everyday chemicals, making it ideal for restaurants, cafés, offices, and busy homes. It provides a natural matte sheen that enhances the wood grain while protecting it for long-term use. Cleaning is simple: wipe with a mild soap-and-water solution or a gentle all-purpose cleaner. While the finish can handle regular commercial cleaning products, we recommend avoiding extremely harsh or abrasive chemicals to preserve the natural look of the wood. If you prefer a wood-safe solution, we offer an approved cleaner here: Hardwood Surface Cleaner. View available finish options on our Color Swatches page.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?

Each piece is built to order in our New York shop. Current lead time is 10–12 weeks, and the Builder shows your ship window before you add to project. Need it sooner? Ready-to-Ship pieces leave in 1–2 business days.

How is it shipped and delivered?

We ship tabletops nationwide. Smaller pieces ship parcel, while larger dining or conference tops ship via freight. Every tabletop is professionally packaged and secured for safe transport. You’ll receive tracking details once your order has shipped.

What is C-channel reinforcement and do I need it?

For wider or longer tabletops, optional steel C-channel reinforcement can be added to the underside for increased stability and long-term flatness. This upgrade is recommended for commercial installations or extra-large builds. Learn more about how C-channels work on our C-Channel Reinforcement page.
